path above the treetops
Up to the else non-accessable area high above the leafy canopy of the forest visitors can enjoy the path above treetops at Thiemsburg.
Here you can climb at the roof of the primeval forest. Discoverers and courageous visitors can enjoy a very special trip to the forests of National Park Hainich. Several highlights wait to be discovered: A tree tower with tree house which looms in 44 meters height above the treetops, a path which curls about a length of 300 metres from the boles to the. Along the path visitors will meet bats, woodpeckers and other inhabitants of the beech grove. By nature and art, knowledge and games, adventurous height and close range the visit of the path above the treetops promises to become an exciting event in natural setting.
Since 15th of Mai 2009 visitors can watch the unique beauties of flora and fauna of the National Park Hainich on a 520 meters long loop road. Additionally to the expansion of the path there are two adventure platforms, one explorer platform and two experimental elements. Rope ladders lead to the platforms downstairs. Climbing elements and a jungle bridge are further highlights.
People who have health or physical impairment can use an elevator.
Your entrance card is available at National Park center. There you will find the checkout area, a souvenir shop and the exhibition „Discover the secrets of National Park Hainich“.
The path above the treetops is located between the municipalities Zimmern and Craula, approximately 10 kilometers southwesterly from the city Bad Langensalza.
Guided tours take place clock hourly. Zu jeder vollen Stunde finden Führungen auf dem Baumkronenpfad statt. Groups with more than 15 visitos need to register at ReKo GmbH previously.
